Phillip R. Gordon, age 52, of Frankfort passed away at his home on January 21, 2010 of natural causes.
Memorial
services are planned for 2 PM, Tuesday, January 26, 2010
at the Blue Rapids United Methodist Church with Reverend
Bob Whitaker officiating.
Music provided by Kim Oatney.
Honorary Bearers were Phillips nephews; Tim
Gordon, Jeff Gordon, Matt Steckel, JB Steckel, Eddie
Sanchez, Abe Sanchez and Tim DeChairo.
Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery in
Waterville. Memorials
are suggested to the American Red Cross for disaster
relief and may be sent in care of Terry-Christie Funeral
Home at PO
Box 61, Waterville, KS 66548.
Phillip
was born July 27, 1957 at Marysville to Robert and Lois
(McMahan) Gordon. He
grew up in Frankfort and Turner, Kansas then moved to
Waterville with his mother in 1972.
He graduated from Valley Heights High School in
1975 and from Manhattan Vo-Tech with an Associate’s
Degree in Mechanics. On
April 5, 1980 he married Crystal Sutton.
He
was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in
Waterville and had been employed at GP Gypsum for over
25 years.
Survivors
include his wife Crystal Gordon and their two sons;
Nicholas Gordon and wife Britany and Alex Gordon, both
of Kansas City, his mother Lois Gordon of Frankfort,
two brothers; Jay Gordon and wife Pat of Troutville,
Virginia and John Gordon and wife Lisa of Highland Park,
Illinois, two sisters; Lynne DeChairo and husband Tom of
Graham, Texas and Becky Moreno and husband Diehard of
Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Phillip
was preceded in death by his father Robert Gordon.
